Shri Prakash Bhagwati joined his family business Associated Textile Engineering (A.T.E) in the year 1973 and was instrumental in spearheading local efforts and adoption of technology to India. As a part of the mission to bring the best technology to India, the group has a number of joint efforts with foreign companies resulting to key technical collaborations and joint ventures to manufacturer some of the finest equipment and components in India. The A.T.E Group, consists of 8 companies, with diverse activity base ranging from plant and machinery for textile spinning, knitting, weaving, non-woven, processing and printing to industrial pumps, web-handling, graphic equipment and consumables, control panels for industrial automation and engineering components and a turnover of more than US $ 50 million.

Under the regular column, experts Dilip and Rushik Bhatt discusses about- Lakshmii Machine Works (LMW) a dedicated unit for complete range of textile machinery was founded and incorporated by G V Naidu (Laxmi) group. In 1962, LMW was promoted for manufacturing of textile machinery in collaboration with RIETER MACHINE WORKS, Switzerland. This collaboration was expired in 1999 but at present Rieter has more than 13 percent stake in share capital of LMW. In 1974, LMW in collaboration with Walter Bracker, Switzerland started manufacturing of ring travellers. Major diversification was made in 1988 by setting up machine tool division having technical support from Mori Seiki, Japan. All divisions "TEXTILE MACHINERY DIVISION", "MACHINE TOOL DIVISION" and "FOUNDRY DIVISION" are ISO 9000 certified. Formerly LMW was promoted to manufacture textile machinery and at present it is enjoying leadership position for providing entire range of textile machinery. LMW has wide range of product from textile m achinery division for card silver system, combing system and ring spinning system. LMW's stock movement has shown negative trend due to recent market correction, experts believe in long term story of such a good company. The advice from the analysts reads-" We maintain "HOLD" at current market price of Rs. 2858 or long term investor having minimum holding capacity of 18 months should buy on dips if market gives opportunity to do so with target of Rs.3500".
