Dr. M.S. Mathivanan (popularly known as MSM) is a well known personality within the weaving industry of Tamilnadu. Dr. Mathivanan holds Masters Degree in Commerce and is awarded Doctorate for his research thesis on "Export of Home Furnishing Fabrics - A Study on Problems and Prospects" by the Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore in the year 2007. Besides his involvement as Chairman, Powerloom Development & Export Promotion Council, he is also various heading industry and trade associations as well as academic institutions. He is also serving as Member with several government as well as trade / industry Advisory Committees, including Planning Commission, Government of India. Dr. Mathivanan has also represented India at various occasions in national and international platforms / exhibitions. He was instrumental in conducting various textile conferences and exhibitions for promotion of Indian textile industry. Evolution In Cotton Testing Instruments

This article updates the TEXTILE REVIEW readers about the evolution in Cotton testing instruments. "TECHNIQUES" the method of doing or performing something. As far as, latest fiber testing techniques are concerned, latest fiber testing (method of doing) is clearly explained in this paper. The global spinning industry is currently undergoing big changes, not least towards the use of more modem and faster spinning machinery and computer system. These high speed machines require much cleaner raw material, therefore they constantly challenge the testing machinery developers to provide faster and more accurate testers and quality controllers. Nanad Exim Ltd was promoted by Mr. Vedprakash Chiripal and Mr. Brijmohan Chiripal in 1994 as a private limited company for manufacturing, trading and export of 100% cotton piece dyed fabric, blended cotton fabric and denim. Nandan Exim Limited has been fully equipped by dynamic infrastructure to manufacture superior quality gray cotton fabrics, khakhis and denim. The product range includes denim, twills, stretch, bull denim, broken twills which finds application in various outfits and garments. Nandan Exim has strong presence in domestic as well as global market for finished denim fabric and weaving of grey fabric. Nandan Exim has been providing fabric to domestic giants like Pantaloons, Shopper Stop, Westside, Wills Lifestyle etc.
As far as financial performance is concern Nandan Exim gives better and better performance QoQ and YoY. It has healthy growth of 60% in topline and appx. 20% in bottomline YoY. Authors' says that "Nandan Exim has been generating appx. 60% of revenue from exports at this juncture, if we consider US slowdown and rupee appreciation as a major cause of concern for the textile business of emerging economies. We feel significant slowdown in demand which directly affects the margin front of such a business". "Financial market also come down significantly in last couple of months (Jan-Feb'08) and indices fallen by 30% from recent high. Nandan Exim also coupling the market movement and stock price is down to earth at Rs. 2.64 from recent high of Rs. 9.85" they added. "We consider "SELL" at every rise and anybody stuck at higher level don't try to average at this point of time" they advice.
