Greetings from TEXTILE REVIEW and welcome to TEXCELLENCE 2008!
As you may be aware, the conference TEXCELLENCE 2008 is being organized as a part of 2nd anniversary celebrations of the publication TEXTILE REVIEW, in association with ATIRA-AMA Centre for Textiles Studies, Ahmedabad.
We are delighted to have massive participation from almost all the sections of the textile industry including - textile processing industry, equipments and machinery suppliers, technology providers, market research companies, research and development institutions, consultants, academic institutions and a large cross section of professionals from the industry.
First of all, we thank the prime sponsors for this event - Reliance Industries Ltd. This 2nd anniversary special issue will also be circulated to all the subscribers of TEXTILE
REVIEW. Besides the presentations and synopsis of the various presentations to be made
during the conference, this issue also highlights an in-depth analysis of the Home Textile
industry. India, with the advantages of low cost of production, availability of raw material
and labour, multi-production centers for vivid home textile products, has the potential and
scope for emergence as one of the major players / producers of home textile products in the
world. This can be achieved if India could present consumer and pocket-friendly products
through research oriented, innovative production techniques, strong logistic systems and
quality products. Through this special focus on home textiles by way of articles from more
than twelve experts covering all essential issues, readers will certainly feel enlightened.
