TEXTILE REVIEW, in association with ATIRA-AMA Centre for Textiles Studies, had organized the 4th national conference on Indian textiles and allied sector TEXCELLENCE 2009 on November 13 -14, 2009 at AMA Auditorium, Ahmedabad. Keeping in mind the present global crisis, the conference will be organized on the theme “Current Economic Situation: Challenges and the Need for Strategic Policy Initiatives”. Besides this, the conference will cover a gamut of contemporary issues of importance on textile sector by experts and professionals. This event will also bring out new ideas and opportunities for the benefit of textile sector.

texcellence'09 : inaugural ceremony

TEXTILE REVIEW conceived a platform to discuss about the Current Economic Situation - the FOURTH national conference on Textile and allied sector ‘TEXCELLENCE ‘09’ with a theme of CURRENT ECONOMIC SITUATION: CHALLENGES & THE NEED FOR STATEGIC INITIATIVES.

The inaugural session of the conference was started with the welcome address by the convener of the conference, Shri DL Pandya, who introduced the august gathering on the dais which compromised of Smt. Panabaka Lakshmi, Hon’ble Minister of State for Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi, Smt. Shashi Singh, Joint Textiles Commissioner, Office of the Textiles Commissioner, Mumbai, Shri Anand Parekh, President (Textile Division), Reliance Industries Ltd, Shri T.L Patel, President, Textile Association of India (Ahmedabad Unit) and Shri AR Garde, former Director of ATIRA and currently associated with ATIRA-AMA Centre for Textile Studies.
