THE textiles and paper industries will see a fresh investment of Rs 10,000 crore in the state, the MoUs for which will be signed during the forthcoming Vibrant Gujarat summit, reports Himanshu Darji from Ahmedabad. It is learnt that Gujarat will have three new textiles parks in the near future. An announcement to this effect is expected after signing of the relevant memorandum of understanding during the investors’ summit. According to official sources, textiles and paper industries have ambitious plans of expansion in Gujarat, involving a total investment of over Rs 10,000 crore.

Tata Motor’s dream small car Nano and the Canadian Bombardier’s Metro train carriage are going to be the two star attractions at the mega exhibition planned as part of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit scheduled to be held in the Science City here on January 12 and 13. The mega exhibition, jointly organised by GIDC, CII and Index-B, will have 278 stalls, tableaux and theme pavilions on different sectors. The exhibition aims at giving a glimpse of the state’s industrial develop-ment and the prospects of investment in various regions and sectors. According to GIDC sources, the exhibition will have stalls of leading companies that are present in Gujarat.
